Świdnica. Twelve answers.
19.09.2026. One day in Świdnica, twelve photographic assignments, and a search for one’s own answers. This encounter with the city resulted in a series that received an honourable mention at the 35th Świdnica Photomarathon.
My first Świdnica Photomarathon ended with an honourable mention. I came to try the format: twelve themes revealed throughout the day, limited time, and a city in which to find my own answers.
I photographed shadows, reflections, people, and the spaces they leave behind. I looked for associations that went beyond a literal interpretation of each task. They didn’t always come easily, and towards the end of the day, fatigue increasingly clouded my thoughts and made me question my choices.
The resulting series begins with a self-portrait in shadow and ends with my reflection in a shop window at night. In between is the Świdnica I saw that day.
I’m glad these photographs caught the jury’s attention at the 35th Świdnica Photomarathon. Below is a link to all twelve photographs submitted to the competition.
